When I think about the journey of my own mental health, on first glance, it really only goes back two or three years, when I first went to a doctor about my anxiety and depression while at university. I was offered counselling through the university counselling services and was given anti-anxiety medication, and later antidepressants. However, when reflecting truly on my mental health journey it could go back almost 20 years to when I started primary school. I was an anxious child. My home life was a happy one, however my family had their stresses and bumps in the road with jobs stress, money and health.
