This aspect of the work highlights on the background of the project, the statement of the problem, the objectives of the study, research hypothesis, significance of the study, scope of the study, expected limitation of the study, sample size and the organization of the study. In every organization it is very essential to put in place an effective internal control system in its daily activities to help achieve its organization objectives. There has been an alarming rate of misappropriation of funds in some organizations. One of such factors is ineffectiveness of internal control system. The extent of effective internal control depend on the environment, management risk, assessment, the accounting information and communication system, control activities and monitoring.

The thesis must demonstrate readiness for scientific thinking, command of research methods, conversance with the topic of the thesis, and ability for scientific communication. The student takes also part in a thesis seminar, which is designed to help the students to prepare their thesis work. Seminar lasts usually the whole semester, and it is organised during both autumn and spring semesters. Registration for the seminar varies depending on the degree programme: please see the instructions for each programme in WebOodi or MyCourses.

Andreas Marpaung , University of Central Florida. In this thesis, we aim at modeling some aspects of the functional role of emotions on an autonomous embodied agent. We begin by describing our robotic prototype, Cherry--a robot with the task of being a tour guide and an office assistant for the Computer Science Department at the University of Central Florida. Cherry did not have a formal emotion representation of internal states, but did have the ability to express emotions through her multimodal interface. The thesis presents the results of a survey we performed via our social informatics approach where we found that: 1 the idea of having emotions in a robot was warmly accepted by Cherry's users, and 2 the intended users were pleased with our initial interface design and functionalities.

Taking the weak sustainability rate of these business entities into account, further studies suggest that South African SMMEs operate in a harsh economic environment, which, in turn, creates a breeding ground for risks to realise in, including that of occupational fraud risk. For this research study, focus was placed on investigating the effectiveness of internal control activities used within South African fast-moving consumer goods FMCG SMMEs to combat occupational fraud risk. This was achieved by conducting a literature review see Chapter 2 to assist in the development of a survey to, in turn, conduct empirical research by collecting quantitative data from respondents see Chapter 3.
